WEAVE OVERVIEW

MONOCLE SOCIETY • GENERAL MANAGER, LEAD WRITER

Weave is an app-based tabletop RPG, which streamlines and distills role-playing into an accessible, character driven experience. With a deck of cards, six dice, and the app, players can explore nearly infinite worlds. Each time the player scans a tarot-style card, they receive bite-sized content about NPCs, items, monsters, plot twists, and other facets of the adventure. As the Lead Writer and General Manager for Monocle Society I led development on multiple playsets, while crafting a team of contributors to create a steady flow of high quality content.

MY ROLE ON THE TEAM

As the Lead Writer and General Manager for Monocle Society, I led the content creation initiative, hiring, and managing a distributed team of writers. I co-wrote and edited the Goblins ‘R Jerks and Umbral playsets. I developed and led internal communication, documentation, and task tracking in order to organize and establish a regular cadence of content updates.

 
 

 
 

BUILDING NEW IP

As the Lead Writer at Monocle Society, I wrote and led development of Goblins ‘R Jerks and co-authored Umbral. Goblins ‘R Jerks flips the traditional fantasy RPG experience on its head as players take on the roles of mischievous goblins, fending for themselves in an adventurer’s world. Umbral takes cyberpunk to 1978, where fantastical creatures, civil rights movements, and magitech corporations clash in a reimagined United States. Additionally, I led a team of five external writers to update old playsets and develop new playsets for our content timeline. Additionally, I wrote and produced the How to Play video series.

 
 

COMMUNITY MANAGEMENT

As the General Manager for Monocle Society, I not only led project management, I also focused on empowering the Weave community. I worked directly with Geek & Sundry to showcase Weave and coach the performers on rules and new content. Within livestreams and daily interactions on Discord, I engaged the community and highlighted the work of our most creative fans, offering feedback and facilitating updates ahead of rule fixes and changes. During conventions, I managed our booth along with the founder and lead designer, demoing and generating excitement for Weave.
